All AOS 98 schools will be providing breakfast and lunch to all students free of charge for the 25/26 school year. Each student receives one main entrée item, fruit and/or juice, and milk at breakfast, and one main entrée item, unlimited salad bar, and milk at lunch. All meals must include fruit and/or vegetables.

Studies show that children who are not hungry perform better in school, are better behaved, are able to concentrate and follow directions better, and score higher on tests.  By providing both breakfast and lunch at no cost to students, we are helping to create a better learning environment.  A hungry child cannot learn.

The school meals that we serve follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals including whole grains and limits on fats, sodium, and added sugars.  We strongly encourage consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible. The School Breakfast and Lunch Programs cannot succeed without your support; please encourage your children to participate in the school meals programs.

AOS 98 has one or more schools that participate in Special Provision II or Community Eligible Provision for the 25/26 school year.  This alternative is referred to as Provision II or CEP.  All students enrolled in the schools listed below may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge.  Household free/reduced meal applications will not be distributed or received this year, but similar forms may be distributed by the schools to collect household income data for other programs that require this information, such as Federal Title programs.

All students will be served breakfast and lunch at no charge at Boothbay Region High School, Boothbay Region Elementary School, Edgecomb Eddy School, Southport Central School and Georgetown Central School. Please encourage your children to participate in the Maine Free School Meals for All program.  For additional information please contact Heidi Stevens, Food Service Director; hstevens@aos98schools.org or 207-633-7131.
