Until December of 2002 the Edgecomb Eddy School was housed in the oldest school building in the state of Maine; it was built in 1857 and later remodeled in 1930. At that time the town officially adopted the name "Edgecomb School". Presently the school - a 25,000 square foot building built and occupied in 2002, sits on a large piece of land off Route 27 where there is ample room for play and exploration.

Edgecomb Eddy School is a Pre-kindergarten-sixth grade elementary school with approximately 120 students. We provide a warm, learning environment with significant individual attention provided each student. Faculty, staff and community members are extremely proud of the School's recent awards: EES is one of only twelve schools in the state of Maine to be named a High Performance Reward School; EES has received the letter grade of A on Maine Schools Report Cards for two consecutive years and; EES was honored as the 2009 National Title I Distinguished School for the State of Maine, being recognized for exceptional student performance in reading and math for 3 consecutive years.
