Boothbay Region High School will be celebrating homecoming week starting Monday, Sept. 30. The week will be filled with color and fun as students plan out events like Pajama Day, Maine Day and Disco Day among a schedule filled with home games.

Seahawks cross-country will kick off the week a few days earlier on Friday, Sept. 27 as host to the Mountain Valley Conference Mid-season Race at 4:15 p.m. at Sherman Field.

Students will observe Monday as PJ Day and will hold a Seahawk Proud Celebration. Tuesday’s theme will be Maine Day and Wednesday’s, Disco Day. Seahawks field hockey will face off against the Mountain Valley High School Falcons at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

On Thursday, every hallway in BRHS will have been given its own theme by students. Float decorating for the parade will begin at 11 a.m., so all flatbeds recruited for floats must be present. The homecoming parade will start from downtown and proceed to the high school at 5:30 p.m. As in past years, a bonfire will begin after the last float comes back to campus, at approximately 6 p.m.

Friday will be Class Color Day: Freshmen are yellow or gold; sophomores, blue; juniors, white; seniors, black; and teachers will be “red for Ed.” BRHS will hold a pep rally, and field hockey will play the Winthrop High School Ramblers at 3:30 p.m. Seahawks football will clash with the Sacopee Valley High School Hawks under the lights at 7 p.m.

Homecoming week will culminate with the dance, Saturday, Oct. 5.
